In the context of the 40th anniversary of the Holy See’s Permanent
Observer Mission to the UN, on 1 July 2004, the General Assembly
adopted a Resolution, by acclamation, confirming and strengthening the
rights of the Holy See as a Permanent Observer in the UN. The Holy See
now enjoys, among other things, the right to participate in the general
debate of the General Assembly; the right of reply; the right to have
its communications issued and circulated directly as official documents
of the Assembly; and the right to co-sponsor draft resolutions and
decisions that make reference to the Holy See.
Thank you for visiting our
site, and may God bless you!
