On Tuesday, 7 October, at 3:00 P.M., His Excellency Archbishop Celestino Migliore, Apostolic Nuncio, Permanent Observer of the Holy See to the United Nations, and President of the Path to Peace Foundation, will host the Symposium, “Peace on Earth,” to commemorate the fortieth anniversary of the encyclical Pacem in Terris, by Pope John XXIII. This event also coincides with the twenty-fifth anniversary of the pontificate of His Holiness Pope John Paul II. Among the dignitaries who will be participating in the symposium are: Secretary-General of the United Nations, Mr. Kofi Annan; Hon. Julian R. Hunte, President 58th Session of the General Assembly; His Eminence Cardinal Edward M. Egan, Archbishop of New York; His Excellency Archbishop Jean-Louis Tauran, Secretary for Relations with States of the Holy See; His Excellency Archbishop Renato R. Martino, President of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace; Ms. British A. Robinson, Director Social/International Ministries USA Jesuit Conference; Mrs. Maria Nigro-Parker, Chief Representative World Union of Catholic Women’s Organization; and Actress Joan Almedilla who will recite portions of The Poetry of John Paul II - Roman Triptych: Meditations, by Pope John Paul II
